High School Student Scholarship Program

Win a $1000 Scholarship from Samsung!

Technology costs money. School budgets are tight. Samsung Techwin America is asking students across America to write an essay on the topic of technology as an investment in education. We want to hear what high school students think about the ramifications of spending on education technology as well as alternative ways to invest a school district's limited budget.

Who: Samsung Techwin America - a world leader in document cameras
What: 2010 Scholarship Program - Deadline: Midnight, June 1, 2010 - Extended Deadline
Awards: A total of 7 $1,000 Student Scholarships
Submission: An essay of up to 300 words on the question: Is technology a good investment for schools? Why or why not?
Judging: Papers will be selected by an independent judging panel. Criteria for selection will be:

Original thinking - 30 points
Relevance to real world - 40 points
Writing quality - 30 points

Requirements: Applicant must be a high school student in the United States
Must have teacher to sponsor student
Allow permission to use photo and essay for publicity purposes
